Idaho Earns Certificate of Appreciation from Department of Energy

The Department of Energy presented Idaho Department fo Health and Welfare with a Certificate of Appreciation at the DOE National Conference. The Certificate is in honor of Idaho’s outstanding performance in managing the Weatherization ARRA Program.

Eastern Idaho Community Action Partnership Receives Major Gift

Eastern Idaho Community Action Partnership is pleased to announce it has received confirmation of a significant gift to establish the Angela Magnani Wood EICAP Memorial Fund, involving $150,000.00 per year over the next 20 years to help fund EICAP’s ongoing efforts to assist those in poverty to become self-sufficient and independent. The Fund’s work will honor Angela Magnani Wood, who passed away far too young last November. Angela had a big heart and this memorial is designed to continue helping others as she did while she was alive. Russ Spain, Executive Director said that, “this donation is much appreciated by the Board and Staff of EICAP and will help the agency to establish new programs or enhance existing ones in order to help clients rise out of the grip of poverty.” “Our hope now,” continues Spain “is that this very generous gift will provide the impetus for others to provide long term donations to EICAP in order for the agency to continue the fight against poverty in eastern Idaho.”

EICAP provides a number of programs to help low-income individuals from Head Start to the Area Agency on Aging, the Haven Shelter, Energy Assistance, Weatherization, low income housing, Mutual Self-Help Housing and others. EICAP Board of Directors President Lane Allgood says, “This incredible gift is indicative of the faith the community has in Eastern Idaho Community Action Partnership and its programs.”

Community Action Agencies were established to fight the War on Poverty in 1964. Eastern Idaho Community Action Partnership, located at 935 Lincoln Road in Idaho Falls, serves the nine eastern Idaho counties with programs to help low-income individuals become independent and self-sufficient. EICAP is one of over 1,000 Community Action Agencies in the United States that provide services to 99% of the counties in the nation.
